At auction, Schumacher's 2003 Ferrari sold for a staggering amount

The iconic Ferrari car of 2003, driven by German Michael Schumacher, was sold at an auction in Geneva for just over 13 million euros.

The F2003-GA Chassis 229 set the record for the highest price achieved among Formula 1 cars in the modern era, and this was confirmed by auction house Sotheby's after the price was officially reached.

In the end, it is almost double the record of 7.5 million euros held by another Ferrari car, which was driven by the German champion in 2001.

With the F2003-GA Chassis 229 model, Schumacher achieved six victories in 2003 and won the sixth of seven Formula 1 world championship titles.

Thanks to Schumacher and his colleague at the time, the Brazilian Barrichello, in 2003 Ferrari won its fifth consecutive constructors' world championship.
