Futbolli brazilian është shkatërruar nga cikloni i basteve të futbollit. Mbrojtësi i Santos, Eduardo Bauermann është pezulluar nga klubi për shkak se ai është një nga lojtarët e akuzuar për marrjen e ryshfeteve nga një grup kriminal që manipulonin ndeshjet për lojërat e fatit.

Hetimi në fjalë lejoi çmontimin e një organizate kriminale të akuzuar se kishte ndryshuar rezultatin e të paktën 6 ndehsjeve në kategorinë e lartë dhe të tjera në turne rajonal.

Sipas prokurorëve, Bauermann mori një ryfshet prej rreth 10 mijë dollarë në këmbim të një kartoni të verdhë në ndeshjen e kampionatit të vitit të kaluar midis Santos dhe Avai. Një telefonatë u përgjua në të cilën një lojtar bastesh kërcënoi lojtarin e Santos se nuk kishte respektuar marrëveshjet, pra kishte marrë një karton për të krijuar probleme për ekipin e tij.
