Atletico Madrid has shown interest in Albanian national team defender Mario Mitaj.
The news is reported by the portal "fichajes.net", according to which coach Diego Simeone has given his consent for the 22-year-old.
Mitaj is valued for his physical strength, technical qualities and ability to advance with the ball. However, Atletico are not the only club interested in his services.
Sunderland have asked Al Ittihad for information about the player's situation. Sporting director Ramon Planes has confirmed interest from England and Spain.
Mitaj has not played in the last two matches in Saudi Arabia. His transfer value is estimated at around 10 million euros.
