The goalkeeper of the Albanian national team, who also plays for the AEK team, Thomas Strakosha, has confessed how he sees himself between the two countries as a player. 

In an interview for a Greek sports show, Strakosha said that he likes life in Greece, but has always felt Albanian and that his respect for his roots was inherited from his parents.

Strakosha said he is proud of this fact, which he said he appreciated even more when he wore the red and black jersey.

"As I told you, I love and respect Greece, but I have always felt Albanian. Even when I leave football, I want to live in Greece with my family, my partner and have my life here, but I am Albanian. This is what both my father and my mother have passed on to me, to respect and love our roots. Especially when I went abroad, I felt proud to be able to wear the emblem of my national team. My father had played for Albania and was also the captain. This was a very strong image for me. I wanted to prove to myself that I could achieve something with the national team, not at the level of my father, but to feel that pride too. When we were little, many children tried to hide their origins because they felt bad. This happened everywhere, not just here. Now, when I see children in the academy who proudly say that they are Albanian, it gives me a lot of joy.
