The premises of the Historical Museum of Shkodra were chosen to develop a different activity with the elderly of the city's residential center. 

This activity brought together institutions, local representatives and citizens in a festive atmosphere, where elements of Shkodra tradition and culture also appeared.

The Deputy Mayor of Shkodra Municipality, Teuta Qyteza, greeted the attendees, emphasizing the municipality's commitment to providing more social services and activities that give space and dignity to the elderly in the city's daily life.

"On this special day, the Municipality of Shkodra reaffirms once again its commitment to improving the quality of life of the elderly and ensuring a better life. Their contribution throughout life is great. The Day of the Elderly is a reminder to pay attention to them. It is a pleasure to say that the third age is our priority. We have two community centers where we offer daily services to the elderly. We will always be by their side", said the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Shkodra, Teuta Qyteza.

The elderly themselves, as well as the director of the Shkodra Home for the Elderly, Fatjon Hoxha, appreciated the care and support being provided to the elderly, emphasizing that respect and love for the elderly are a moral and social obligation.

"Gratitude for this activity. We live in a nursing home, but we have good conditions. They take care of us and it's like a second home there," says an elderly woman.

"I am privileged to serve several grandparents at the nursing home. They have now become like a second home for us. Gratitude to all our collaborators who help provide services," said Fatjon Hoxha, director of the nursing home in Shkodra.

The festive atmosphere continued for a long time under the rhythms of two artists from Shkodra, Savjana Vjerdha and Glerdit Turmetaj. /CNA
