Diaspora voters/ Government gives CEC additional funds of 9.3 million euros

The government has accepted the CEC's request and approved the additional fund of 9.3 million euros needed for voters from abroad in the parliamentary elections. The Central Election Commission previously requested additional funds from the Parliament and the Ministry of Finance for the emigrant voting process for the general parliamentary elections on May 11. 

Before the elections, the CEC requested an additional 870 thousand euros for support for electronic voting, 280 thousand euros for salaries and insurance for temporary employees, and 263 thousand euros for information technology systems. The CEC also requested to hire 80 additional employees for the diaspora process.

According to CEC information, there are 294,155 unique voters who have applied for registration, 245,975 unique voters whose request was approved, and 48,180 unique voters whose request to register as overseas voters was rejected.
