May 11th Elections/ OSCE-ODIHR: The observation mission continues today, we

OSCE-ODIHR Ambassador Lamberto Zannier announced that the election observation mission in Albania begins today.

He stated that all aspects of the elections will be monitored before and after election day.

Monitoring includes the implementation of the legal framework, the development of the campaign also on social media, the resolution of disputes and responsible media coverage, and the implementation of previous recommendations.  

"We are launching the election observation mission today."

To achieve this objective, we will monitor all aspects of the elections before and after election day.

Monitoring includes the implementation of the legal framework, the development of the campaign also in social media, the resolution of disputes and responsible media coverage, and the implementation of previous recommendations.

Part of the process will be meetings with representatives of state authorities, media representatives, and political representatives.

We attach importance to transparency. I would like to inform you that we will have a report on our activities 2 weeks before the elections.

"Also, one day after the elections, we will have the preliminary results of the mission, which will be communicated after the elections," he said.

Asked about SPAK's strategy for electoral crimes, Zannier said he would look into this initiative.

"I will also look into this SPAK initiative. I have no opinion to share with you today," he said.

Among other things, he emphasized that findings on irregularities will be included in their reports.

"All our findings will be included in our reports. We are committed to cooperating with the authorities. But our findings of irregularities will be kept through our reports," Zannier said./ CNA
