Elections 2025/ Baçi, convinced: The technical government will be realized

The deputy of the DP for the district of Fier, Luan Baçi, has categorically denied the boycott of the 2025 elections.

In an interview for CNA TV, Baçi said that mistakes such as the boycott or the burning of the MP's mandates will not be repeated.

"The word boycott no longer has a place at all in the DP. In the assembly of December 11, that statute has sanctioned that the elections will never be boycotted and no one has the power to decide this. There will be trouble and there must be a technical government for free and fair elections. Otherwise there has to be stability. Today, the opposition is not like it was 8 years ago, with the sold-out leadership of that time. Today, there is an opposition with a DP at the head, whose president is Sali Berisha, elected with one member and one vote, and who cannot cross this limit set by the citizens. The boycott of the 2019 elections and leaving the Parliament before these elections were suicide for the DP, it was unforgivable," he said.

To avoid such political situations, the deputy said that the technical government should be defined by law.

"To guarantee free and fair elections, we have the example of North Macedonia, we don't have to make inventions. A technical government to guarantee elections, even to be permanent in the sense that it is sanctioned by law, that every time to have elections even when the DP is in power, to have a technical government responsible for the management of the elections so that there are no contestations", declared Baçi.

The Democratic Party demands the establishment of a technical government that would guarantee the implementation of laws and free and fair elections in the spring of 2025./ CNA
