A week ago, Prime Minister Edi Rama canceled the official meeting with the MEPs, including Fredi Beleri.

Rama spoke about this meeting, which raised controversy, during a press conference for the Greek media.

He said that he did not cancel the meeting because of Beler, but emphasized that he has never held a meeting with the Europeans.

"Justice in Albania is independent and no one can interfere in it, neither the Albanian government, nor the Greek government, and the Albanian justice system has made a decision. So this decision is not for discussion, it is only for implementation. And another fake news is that I refuse to meet with him, because this is not true. I just don't have meetings with MEPs, and that's it. I haven't met MEPs, not now, but not in the past either," declared the head of the government. / CNA
