The vote of emigrants/ Balla responds to Zhupa: The diaspora will give the SP 84

The Minister of State for Parliamentary Relations, Taulant Balla, in his speech in Parliament, called on immigrants to register to vote in the May 11 elections.

Balla said that regarding the request for immigrants to vote with foreign documents, it is up to the CEC.

He also responded to MP Ina Zhupa, who said that the majority cannot hold large meetings without patronage supporters. Addressing Zhupa, Balla said that the SP is asking the Diaspora for 84 mandates so that they do not remain hostage to the DP's votes.

"I say to the immigrants that while you still have 2 weeks, please use this time to increase the number of our compatriots. Let them vote on the registration deadline with the registration of coalitions, candidates, to leave more time for the post office. You have understood that it is impossible for someone to vote with a document from another country.

It is impossible in any country in the world for someone to vote with a document from another country. We have been a country since 1912, we are proud that we have made steps in terms of the integrity of the electoral processes. We have sanctioned that in Albania you can participate in elections with biometric documents. It is up to the authority that organizes the elections to express its opinion on this issue.

A member of parliament here dared to make comparisons regarding meetings with the diaspora. We agree that you cannot have meetings like those in Athens, Milan, the USA, or London. You cannot have a meeting like these in Tirana. What we from the diaspora want is not to have the mandates to govern, but to have 84 mandates to make reforms so that we do not remain hostage to your votes. The diaspora will give the SP 84 mandates to make reforms , "said Balla./ CNA
