The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, in a television appearance focused on the electoral system, which he said needs a deep reform at all levels. Celibashi stated that the reform of this system will be decided after the May 11 elections.

Further, the head of the CEC said that the diaspora voting process still has room for improvement.

Celibashi also focused on the role of the OSCE-ODIHR in the elections, saying that every decision they make is respected, even if it is critical of the work of the CEC.

The Chief Commissioner said that the parties must also accept the decisions of the OSCE-ODIHR.

" There is a need for a profound reform of the electoral system, regarding the administration of the electoral process, the functioning of commissions at all levels, infrastructure, logistics, party financing, campaigning in the media and social networks, and elements of this nature, which are in some way touched upon in this report."

It is time to stop talking because we have nothing to do one day before the elections, but there is still much to decide after this process is over.

There are proposals from international observer partners for the diaspora vote, which according to them the process is credible, transparent and efficient. We have found that there is room for improvement. There are problems.

"The ODIHR are the arbitrators and evaluators of the elections in Albania and we, I have said, respect their every decision, even when it is critical of the work of the CEC. We have accepted them as arbitrators and will accept their judgment. We have called them as such and the parties must accept their decision," said Celibashi./ CNA
