Mayor Erion Veliaj mocked the opposition during a meeting with youth groups and associations in Tirana district.

Veliaj said that the Socialist Party will conduct a modest and low-cost campaign for the May 14 elections, as there is no need to promise free flights.

“Ne duam të organizojmë një fushatë modeste, me koston më të ulët, pa sponsorizime, pa shpenzime; përkundrazi, duam të gjejmë disa mënyra kreative se si buxhetin që na jep KQZ-ja për fushatën, t’ia kthejmë komunitetit si investim për të mbjellë dashuri dhe bashkim, jo për të mbjellë sherr e përçarje. KQZ-ja duhet të shqetësohet për partitë pa logo, pa fonde nga shteti. Si mund të sponsorizohen ato? Kush janë sponsorët e tyre? Sponsorizojnë çekun e bardhë dhe avionë falas, ndërkohë që ne nuk kemi fare nevojë për këto. As nuk duam ta bëjmë, as nuk kemi nevojë për këto sepse puna flet vet”, tha Veliaj.

Kryebashkiaku i Tiranës kishte edhe një pyetje për Partinë Demokratike.
