The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has had strained relations with Prime Minister Edi Rama for several years.

The arrests of the directors of the Municipality of Tirana for the affairs of the incinerators and the "5D" file seem to have crossed the prime minister's "red line".

Rama "released" Veliaj and handed him over to SPAK, asking this institution of justice not to spare any person involved in corruption.

The head of the government has even ignored the socialist mayor several times in public. The latter, already in trouble with justice, continues to "lick" the prime minister.

During a meeting with socialists from Petrela, Farka and Baldushka, Veliaj flattered Rama.

"If we continue to stay focused, if we continue to keep our promises, if we do not forget the people who have brought us here and respond to them with humility and dignity, we will go to the next victory in 2025, for Edi Rama and SP -, who have raised their heads against Albania", declared Veliaj.
