Meeting with Rama/ Japanese Prime Minister: We support Albania's membership in the EU
Prime Minister Edi Rama was welcomed with a state ceremony...
Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered his speech at the meeting with his Japanese counterpart, Sanae Takaichi, where delegations from both countries were also present.
Rama appreciated the hospitality, adding that he expects the strengthening of relations between the two countries. He also added that he supports the Indo-Pacific strategy.
Among other things, Rama invited the Japanese Prime Minister to the NATO summit to be held next year in Albania, where he jokingly said that we will "take 'revenge' for this warm hospitality."
"First, let me thank you for your hospitality, which I will not forget, and I also want to say that I have had the opportunity to be part of many ceremonies, but this ceremony today is truly special. On the other hand, I would like to say that this is my second visit to Japan in a relatively short time and with great pleasure, we look forward to strengthening this relationship.
The Japan-Albania relationship is a relationship that is based on shared values ??and principles for the world in which we want to live, and yes, it is actually true that I have seen the Indo-Pacific strategy and we fully support it.
As we fully support the entire content of this strategy and for this reason, with great interest we look forward to exploring different possibilities on how we can get closer to Japan and on the other hand, I would like to tell you in advance that next year, in Tirana, we will organize the NATO Summit. For this reason, I have the special pleasure to invite you to participate in that Summit and in fact, when you come, it will also be the first time that a Japanese Prime Minister will visit Albania on a state visit and it would be a pleasure to host you and in some way, to 'revenge' for this very warm hospitality that you have offered us and that has left an impression on us.
So, once again, honorable Prime Minister, thank you very much and with great desire and pleasure, I look forward to our conversation. Also, before I close this first word, let me congratulate you on your truly fantastic victory and it is impressive that we actually see a woman at the head of the government, with all the others being men in her cabinet, you are second only to the former Prime Minister of Britain, the late Margaret Thatcher. So, thank you very much and congratulations to you and to your people", said Rama. /CNA
