At the NATO Parliamentary Assembly meeting, the main focus was on developments in Ukraine, Russian aggression and the consequences it is creating in Europe and beyond.

It is an obligation to defeat Putin's regime and guarantee the freedom and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Senior representatives of the Pentagon and the State Department clearly expressed the support of America and NATO towards Ukraine.

Assistant Secretary Donfried and Pentagon senior director Winternitz once again clearly stated that not only Russia, but also China, is turning into a new threat.

Në komentin dhe pyetjet e tij Mediu, si pjesëtari i delegacionit të Parlamentit shqiptar, të drejtuar nga Kodheli, theksoi se; vakumi i krijuar në Ballkan, ka krijuar mundësi për prezencë dhe influencë Ruse, por edhe Kineze, nëpërmjet iniciativës “Road and Blet” dhe 17+1.

Mediu ishte i ftuar në takimin e Forumit të Inteligjencës, të organizuar nga Kongresmeni Pittinger dhe Senatori Tom Tillis.

Në këtë takim po ashtu u trajtuan qartësisht sfidat e sigurisë nga Rusia, Kina, Irani dhe të tjerë.

Ish këshilltari për sigurinë John Bolton, në përgjigje të pyetjes së Mediu, se ç’duhet të bëjë NATO dhe SHBA në lidhje me sulmet kibernetike të Iranit mbi Shqipërinë, theksoi se; ka ardhur koha për shkak se sulmet kibernetike janë tashmë të mirfillta të karakterit të sigurisë dhe sovranitetit, në kuadër të artikullit 5 të NATOs, për mbrojtjen kolektive, të përcaktohet me qartë se kush quhet akt lufte.

Senatori Tillis vlerësoi qëndrimin e Shqipërisë ndaj Iranit dhe njëkohësisht deklaroi mbështetjen e Senatit ndaj Shqipërisë në këtë përballje.

In discussion with Senator Tillis, Senator Inhofe, Cornyn, the chiefs of staff of Senator Rubio and Menendez, as well as in close cooperation with Congressmen Sessions and Aderholt, it was agreed that around the end of January, in cooperation with Mr. Mediu, to organize a security forum, with the participation of deputies from South-Eastern Europe on the influences of Russia and China, but at the same time the challenges of the fight against organized crime and corruption in the Balkan region.
