Meeting with Keith Self/Këlliçi: The fight against organized crime

Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi is on an official visit to the United States of America. Këlliçi, along with his fellow MPs, met with Congressman Keith Self.

During the meeting, the MP announced that it was agreed that the fight with zero tolerance against organized crime and corruption is the only way for Albania to move forward.

During our visit to the US Congress, we met with Congressman Keith Self, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe in the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Initially, we thanked Congressman Self for the hearings held in Congress focusing on developments in Albania, as well as for all the support he has given to our country over the years.

The NATO alliance has obligations to Albania, which must not take steps backward in the democratic functioning of institutions, in the independence of the justice system, in the assessment of any foreign investment in Albania, and above all in the fight with zero tolerance against money laundering.

The zero-tolerance fight against organized crime and corruption is the only way for Albania to move forward, as a country worthy of being a NATO member and as a candidate country for the EU. / CNA
