How is Bledi Çuçi justified for withdrawing the Criminal Amnesty

At the beginning of today's plenary session, the majority voted with 74 votes in favor of removing the Criminal Amnesty bill from the agenda.

Regarding this decision, the head of the Parliamentary Group of the SP, Bledi Çuçi, said that they withdrew this draft law, in respect of tradition and that it should be voted by consensus. 

Thus he was justified in relation to today's decision of the majority, which could not secure 84 votes for the passage of this draft law. 

Çuçi underlined that there will always be 84 votes in the Assembly to vote for Criminal Amnesty. 


"I withdrew the law in respect of the current tradition for the amnesty law to be voted on by consensus, because the beneficiaries of the amnesty law are either left-wing or right-wing, they are Albanians, they are ordinary people who should benefit from this very important institution of of criminal justice. So you heard Lulzim Basha's position yesterday, I have no comment. We have solid votes. 84 votes to vote for Criminal Amnesty are always in Parliament. We have solid votes. There are others who can vote. We are patient to respect the tradition. Today we withdrew with respect for the tradition", he said./ CNA
