The opposition candidate for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, said this evening that the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has not climbed the career ladder in politics by his own efforts.

He said on Endri Xhafo's show that Veliaj received the positions as a gift, so he claims that Prime Minister Edi Rama mocks him publicly.

According to him, the socialist mayor owes his political career to Rama.

"My journey in the party has gone from a simple activist to this stage where I am currently a candidate for the municipality. While Veliaj has received all the posts as a gift and for this reason Edi Rama mocks him, tells him to paint the stairs at 05:00 in the morning, leaves him in a corner for other meetings. All this because Veliaj owes him his political career. This doesn't happen to me, I met 8,000 party members and sympathizers in the Primary", emphasized Këlliçi./ CNA.al
