Democratic MP Dhurata Çupi has asked the Parliament for an urgent interpellation with the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, about the destruction of the Bird Bridge.

During her speech in the Assembly, she said that the minister should come to account, to show what the government is doing regarding the maintenance of the bridge, which has a centuries-old history and great cultural and architectural values.

"Urgent interpellation with the Minister of Culture to report on the destruction of the bird bridge. After 100 years it is being destroyed. Described as the most beautiful bridge in the Balkans and today it is being destroyed, with 6 arches when it was built, today there are 5. I call on my colleagues to support me to do everything to protect the bridge from being destroyed. The government is doing nothing to maintain it. The minister should report to us what is being done. He should report to us what he is doing to protect it from destruction", said Çupi ./CNA.al
