Analyst Andi Bushati shared a critical stance today regarding the situation created by the increase in oil prices.

Invited to "Syri TV", Bushati said that although this change comes as a result of the attacks in Iran, in such conditions with global impact, state control is needed to lead to a tax reduction.

"The price increase, of course, Albania has much higher inflation than the official figures show, but it must be said that the price increase is not a consequence of the government. So, it is a consequence of the attack that is happening in Iran. The problem is how governments cope with such crises. For example, Rama almost touched it, that famous tax that is more than half the price of oil, the circulation tax is not, is not affected. So what is done in such conditions? In such conditions when fuel prices rise and specialists are saying that the effect of the price increase in Albania is not an effect of having imported more expensive oil, the price of oil has risen with the oil that we have imported at low prices. So, here is the first abuse.

The second abuse that the state can control is by exacerbating the oligopoly situation that it has created itself. Here, the entire fuel market is concentrated in a few hands, let alone two.

So what did Rama do? Rama gathered the representatives of the fuel trade and in a way threatened them. The first to show the public that here, I am the person who is worried about you and the second to give them a warning, do not abuse it too much because the political cost of that abuse is paid by me, the government, because people are never happy when prices increase and even more so the price of cars, but this will increase the prices of every product because transportation is included, energy is included, many things are included. So, Rama in this instead of making a statesman's move, reducing a large part of the tax or not, Meloni acted, today many countries in the region are acting. Rama says, this taboo of ours is not affected. Although we get the circulation tax once again in an indirect way when we pay for the car once a year. And instead of a path, even a temporary one, of how a state should act, this government is more concerned with propaganda and personal intimidation, not with reviewing the legal framework.

So, when you impose three types of taxes on people, you include them in the price of oil, once every four years they can vote against it. Because they say where does all this money go. In fact, the opposite happens here, because we have lost, we are like that sick body whose thermometer we have broken and we have destroyed the elections. So, there are no free elections here, so it matters little whether people are satisfied or dissatisfied, have more money or less money in their pockets. This would have value and would be measured when we held free elections. But now, even officially sealed as an electoral autocracy, I don't believe we have any hope left", - said Bushati. /CNA
