Danger from Iran/Media: The President should urgently convene the National

The head of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, has reacted after the warning of the US embassy, ??which announced that groups linked to Iran may target entities linked to the United States or elements of the Iranian resistance in Albania.

Mediu emphasizes that Albania, as a US partner and the country with the largest organized presence of the Iranian resistance, faces a real risk of attacks, including not only missiles and drones, but also subversive actions and attacks on critical infrastructure.

He writes that the threat cannot be ignored, despite Albania's membership in NATO.

The head of the Republican Party calls on the President of the Republic to urgently convene the National Security Council, which according to him has been devalued and non-existent for a long time.

The media demands that intelligence services take appropriate measures to protect citizens and the country's vital interests, cooperating with international partners.

Medium's post

The US Embassy issued a security alert late this evening, urging American citizens to be cautious, as groups linked to Iran may target entities linked to the United States or elements of the Iranian resistance in Albania.

For years, Albania has severed diplomatic relations with Iran, is a partner with the US, and today has the largest organized presence of the Iranian resistance.

At Rama's proposal, the Iranian Guard was declared a terrorist organization. Also, cyber attacks have increased, hitting important institutions. What do we expect to happen?

Faced with this situation, the President of the Republic must urgently convene the National Security Council, which has been devalued and has been non-existent for a long time.

Do your job that the Constitution and the law have assigned to you and for which you are paid.

The National Security Council should analyze the situation, in cooperation with partners. The intelligence services should take the measures that are urgently needed to organize and defend against any attack, which may not be simply with missiles and drones, as many think and talk about, but also with subversive actions organized by Iran, attacks on critical infrastructure and vital interests of citizens, etc.

The state is not the power of the Prime Minister and the Government, but rather all institutions that have the primary interest of preserving national security and the safety of citizens, which politics and institutions must serve.

Enough with naive and idiotic declarations that “we don't have problems because NATO protects us.” Membership in NATO does not mean giving up on protecting national security and not assessing threats.
