Local elections are a two-way contest, of the candidate and the party. The candidate's expectations are definitely higher.

He must get a certain percentage more than the votes received by the party to win the mayor of the city where he is running.

There are also spectacular cases in the world, one of which will be recorded in the Guinness record, such as the case of Roland Bejko.

In any country, in any race, it rarely happens that the candidate gets less votes than the party without speaking as in the case of Bejko when the candidate for president has 30% less votes than the party in the council.
