The former prime minister, Sali Berisha, in a statement to the media, denounced that the government bought votes in the May 14 elections by increasing pensions for 670,000 retirees and increasing salaries for 200,000 administration employees.

" As never before, the government rewarded 670,000 pensioners with a bonus of 5,000 ALL, in a total value of 33 million euros, with the aim of openly buying or influencing the votes of citizens.

Raised salaries for 200,000 administration employees in order to buy votes. 13 thousand citizens entered the pension scheme without social contributions. "For the purchase of votes, over 20,000 citizens were added to the list of economic assistance and tens of thousands more were employed without a contract," said Berisha. / CNA.al
