The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, gave Lulzim Basha 48 hours as the official chairman of the DP to complete the documentation for the registration of the Democratic Party in the elections.

But this decision was appealed by Enkelejd Alibeaj to KAS. The Appeals and Sanctions Commission refused to consider the appeal and sent the case back to the CEC.

Indrit Sefa, the legal representative of the seal group, spoke to the media about this. Sefa accused Celibashi of abusing his duty and breaking the law by taking political positions.

“Vendimi konfirmoi pretendimin tonë që Komisioneri është jashtë afatit ligjor për të marrë afat përfundimtar. Komisioneri duhet të merrte vendim përfundimtar për të regjistruar PD në zgjedhje. Është në shkelje të afateve dhe ka bërë shpërdorim detyre. Komisioneri po cënon PD dhe po shkel afatet proceduriale të përcaktuara. I bëj thirrje komisionerit që në një kohë sa më të shkurtër të marrë në shqyrtim kërkesën e PD për tu regjistruar. Çdo moment që kalon është në shkelje të dispozitave ligjore dhe Kodit Zgjedhor. Komisioneri ka mbajtur qëndrime politike, është larg procedurës, ka bërë ndërhyrje në përcaktimin e rezultatit. I bëj thirrje që të marrë në konsideratë kërkesën e PD. Kjo është vendimmarrja e KAS, komisioneri ka disa orë që e ka në tavolinë dhe duhet të marrë masa të menjëhershme.
