Reaction/ Political Persecutions against Alibeaj: To approve the Lustration Law

The Law of Lustration is again part of the political debate. DP MP Enkelejd Alibeaj has presented an initiative related to some changes in law no. 8457 "On Classified State Secret Information".

But this initiative seems to have met with the opposition of the Association of Former Political Victims of Albania based in Shkodër.

The Association of the Politically Persecuted has evaluated the law 10034 'On the purity of the image of high officials of the public administration and the elected' or as it is called the 'Lustration Law', approved by the government of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha but opposed by SP and PSD in 2010 and overthrown by the Constitutional Court this year.

Through the statement to the media, this Association requested the approval of this law in order to create the conditions to be separated once and for all from the dark part of history. /CNA.al
