"Rama froze pensions because he stole funds"/ Berisha: On May 11, we

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held the closing meeting of the election campaign for the DP-ASHM in Mirdita. In his speech, Berisha emphasized the importance of the victory on May 11, which, according to him, will be a victory to separate from a great evil.

Berisha said that in the last 11 years, more people left the country than from any kind of war or epidemic Albania has ever known.

Berisha said that Prime Minister Edi Rama froze pensions because billions and billions that were supposed to be given to pensioners and salaried workers were stolen from public works.

"With God's number, the Njisha have taken the fate of Albania into their own hands today. They have taken the long-awaited victory of May 11th into their own hands."

Wherever I go, the light, its brilliance, emanating from the hearts, souls, and eyes of citizens reborn with hope and faith to be separated from an evil that they never deserved.

To separate ourselves from a great evil that is desolating Great Mirdita and Great Albania. To separate ourselves from an evil that is closing classrooms, closing schools, sowing loneliness and insecurity in Albanian voters.

All of this became an epidemic these 11 years, my friends.

The truth is this, that from 2007 to 2014, Mirdita, Lezha, Albania grew in population year after year. Because there was hope that Mirdita would become, that Albania would become.

There was hope that the young men and women in this country could build their Albanian dream, their glorious dream.

From 2014 to 2023, 1 million and 99 thousand Albanians left for the EU space alone. They left Albania more than ever before in its centuries-old history. They left Albania more than any other nation, from any kind of war or epidemic it has known.

My friends left Albania because they were killed, the opportunities of Albanians were destroyed, and with them, the hope and faith for a future in their country. Like no other of his peers in the Balkans and in Europe, Edi Rama froze pensions, which were undoubtedly low, but with a vertical increase from 2005 to 2013. And for the first time in our history, in 2013 we had the highest salaries and pensions in the Region.

What happened? How did we get so far in 10 years? Because they stopped increasing pensions. But why did they stop it? Because there was no money? No, there was money, without a doubt.

"But because billions and billions that were supposed to be given to pensioners and salaried workers were stolen, stolen, and only stolen from public works," Berisha said./CNA
