Rama with an ultimatum: Builders and premises to vacate public spaces as soon as

Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a communication on social networks this Friday, called on all builders of buildings, premises and others to stop treating the surrounding areas as private property, but to vacate them as soon as possible, in order to stop continuing this scandalous and abusive way of occupying public spaces.

"The builders of the buildings, after having built the buildings and with them those who own the premises in these buildings, have continued to treat the surrounding property as private property, while it is not private property. It cannot be private property, it is as much private property as the entire staircase of the building, or as much as the elevators of the buildings that belong at least to that entire community of residents in that building.

And no one has more rights over the land around the palace and over the space between the palaces than each of those residents and each of those families who are in those palaces.

So I call on all those who own such assets, from the beams that decide to take money from residents for parking in the most abusive and scandalous way, claiming that it is their private property, there is no private property as long as it is a property that has derived from the development of the surrounding buildings and there is no private property as long as it is a space where there is no permission to do a certain activity, starting from parking.

"You cannot place a beam in the city claiming that it is your property and you can take money to allow the residents there or anyone else who accesses that territory for a visit or whatever reason, to pay you to be the owner of their own land," Rama said. /CNA
