Rama ironizes the EU/ "It took Vladimir Putin to understand the importance of the Western Balkans"

Prime Minister Edi Rama mocked the European Union during the discussion at the BLED strategic forum panel, which is being held in Slovenia.

Rama said that the EU has turned its attention to the Western Balkans only after Russia's war in Ukraine.

He stated that it took Russian President Vladimir Putin for the EU to understand the importance of the Western Balkans.

"I felt encouraged, that I finally heard a name from a state that is already in the EU that admitted that it took Vladimir Putin for the EU to understand the importance of the Balkans. Putin's invasion of Ukraine made the EU realize that it really lives in a parallel world.

The growth plan is on track. It is a moment where I feel positive for the European Union", the head of the government emphasized, as he was asked about the appointment of the special commissioner for EU integration./ CNA
