Rama: New pension scheme ready, special fund through employee savings

Prime Minister Edi Rama was this afternoon at the industrial complex in Durrës, where several integrated companies in transportation, recycling and industrial processing operate.

In his speech, Rama announced that the government is preparing a new pension scheme, which, according to him, will enrich the current scheme.

According to Rama, the new scheme also includes a special fund that will allow employees to invest even 1 euro of their money, a form of savings that reflects on their future pension.

"We are preparing a new pension scheme that will not replace but will enrich the current scheme by giving all employees who want to save more for their pension the opportunity to put any percentage of their salary into a special fund, which the state will match with the same amount. If someone withdraws 1 euro from their salary to put it every month in their own pension fund, which will then be added to the final pension they will receive, the state will also add 1 euro, and so it will become two euros, and of course this will be combined, the state for state employees and the private sector for its employees. This will allow the pension fund to take shape and guarantee the connection between the private sector and the employee in the long term. The question is often asked why there are no enterprises or factories, while their number in the country is increasing and they are being developed with advanced technology. These are very good opportunities for young people who are graduating from vocational schools to get employed", - said Rama. /CNA
