The 30th protest against Veliaj/ Muçollari for CNA TV: He should have
The member of the presidency of the DP, Grigels Muçollari

This Friday, the Alliance for the Protection of the Theater and the opposition will hold the 30th protest in front of the Tirana Municipality, where the main demand is the removal of the mayor Erion Veliaj and his confrontation with justice.

The member of the leadership of the DP, Grigels Muçollari, in a statement for CNA TV, stated that the opposition will continue to denounce every case of abuse and that the time has come to establish a new balance in the relationship between the exercise of power and the citizen.

"The protests that have been going on for months have taken on a big role given the sustainability of a cause that the city of Tirana or the society itself cannot allow to go unpunished, as moral values, these current ones, but also those of generations, are seriously endangered. next. The denunciation, but also the opposition's insistence when something unacceptable for civic morality happens, are a good omen that show that the opposition is on top of its duty, but at the same time, a proof that SPAK is not offering what we all are looking for , justice and a new balance in the relationship between the exerciser of power and the citizen".

Asked about the effectiveness of the protests and whether they will continue, Muçollari said:

"Protests have been effective and will continue. The main goal is to raise awareness, but also to keep in mind the serious abuse of office by the mayor and the great damage he has done to the citizens of Tirana. This awareness is happening. And it is not a little, in the conditions when the propaganda in power covers the facts of the corruption of its own making".

Muçollari also commented on Veliaj's silence regarding the protests that have been going on for several months.

"Regarding Veliaj's silence, I don't think it is a topic of discussion, since if he had even the smallest moral of political conscience, he should have resigned in time, even if he was not involved in these affairs at all , but they just happened under his nose, but personal involvement in all affairs is already known. It is also worth mentioning the case of the pine trees that, in addition to the fact that there should be an investigation for corruption, since they were bought for 6800 euros through direct procurement, when the market value did not exceed 1000 euros, another case should be opened against him today (moment when the pine trees are being uprooted on the highway) for the waste of millions of euros, since as the Roads Authority states, Veliaj was aware of the highway expansion project".

As for the form of the protests and should they be tougher, Muçollari said that maybe the moment has come for people to be allowed to express their revolt even more.

"If justice is not offered for these flagrant cases and more evidence against Veliaj or other cases of the majority, society will find the solution through revolt. We no longer expect that one day political morality will be born to them, but what we expected was for justice to act. In its absence, maybe people should react". - said Muçollari for CNA TV. The protests in front of Tirana City Hall are being held for the scandals that happened in this institution, such as the incinerator affair and the "5D" file./ CNA
