The DP deputy Albana Vokshi from Strasbourg has stated that the DP group has held meetings with the party groups in the EP.

Vokshi said that they informed about the difficult situation of democracy in Albania, emphasizing the persecution of the opposition by the majority.

The deputy stated that the political groups in the EP have been informed about the use of justice by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who according to her is using it politically to attack the opposition with the aim of destroying it.

It also focused on the arrest of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, MP Ervin Salianji and the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta.

"We informed the EPP about the difficult situation of democracy. The constitutional order has fallen in Albania. The disorganization of fair elections since Rama came to power, due to the situation of rampant corruption. We focused on the fact that the persecution directed at the opposition has been observed using the justice that is being used politically by Edi Rama and the majority to attack and persecute the opposition. We stopped the unprecedented attack on the opposition with the aim of destroying it", said Vokshi./ CNA
