DP's program for business/ Berisha: We give priority to small business

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a meeting with traders at the Industrial Market in Tirana today. During the meeting, Berisha spoke extensively about the DP's program for business.

In discussions with traders, Berisha stated that the DP intends to give great priority to small businesses, because they employ more than any other business.

Berisha said that the current economic situation ends on May 11 and that the DP is determined to change this situation in the first 100 days.

"I am pleased to be here to inform you about our program because we believe that the economic program of every political force is of interest to every citizen."

For us, small business has a huge advantage because it employs more people than any other business. And employment means a salary, it means a better life.

For small businesses, we will reduce energy from 18 to 6 lekë. We will increase the tax ceiling from 140 thousand to 180 thousand euros tax-free. Public space will be given to you at a much lower price. We will forgive all fines that have been imposed on you. Every fine will be forgiven on small businesses.

Meanwhile, the living wage for every Albanian, for every pensioner with any pension. There will be no pension below 200 euros. There will be no one with economic assistance below 200 euros.

We will do everything for the list of medicines. I was just reading, before I came here, an official analysis by INSTAT. It showed that from 2019 to 2023, out-of-pocket healthcare expenses of Albanian citizens have increased by 41 percent.

How have they grown? All the equipment that is purchased with your money is left idle so that citizens can go to private companies.

Today, tests are not performed in every hospital during the last 10 days of the month because the profit they make ends meet and family members are forced to have tests done privately.

Albanians now pay 820 million euros per year out of pocket for their healthcare. End it!

"This is coming to an end and we are determined to change this situation in the first 100 days," Berisha said./CNA
