Even in the heart of Tirana, in the neighborhoods around "Myslym Shyri", poverty and the inability to afford the cost of living are present.

In meetings with residents of this area, the Democratic Party candidate in Tirana, Grigels Muçollari, has shared these concerns about high prices and low salaries and pensions.

Pensioners who barely receive 200 thousand old lek per month say that the prices of basic products have doubled while their incomes have remained the same.

They say that life has become unaffordable.

Muçollari has informed residents that the DP's commitment to the economic program completely changes this situation.

Establishing a living wage of 200 euros and increasing pensions on this basis by up to 20 percent will create conditions for pensioners to afford their living.

Also, for the most disadvantaged, the consumer package provides for the full reimbursement of VAT for basket products, which means that for a pensioner this measure is worth almost two pensions in one year.

The tall towers and facades have not helped the well-being of the residents of these neighborhoods at all. Year after year, the economy has deteriorated.

Setting a minimum wage of 500 euros and reducing the price of energy are other points envisaged in the DP program that will make people's lives easier.

The Democratic Party's economic platform is well received in every neighborhood and unit of the capital.

Muçollari assures residents that after the May 11 vote, the situation will change. Decisions related to the economy of the majority of citizens will be made by the new government in the first 100 days./ CNA
