Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke tonight about the property problem in Himara.
He emphasized that properties in Himare are not robbed, and that there are no problems with ownership titles in Himare.
According to Rama, it is all a myth raised by tired politicians, who misinform Athens.
"Properties in Himara are not robbed. But they are with sales contracts. And they are impressive, they are almost higher than in Corfu. The income goes to Himari families. But it is about residents of Himara, a private relationship with them.
Undoubtedly, Himara is a municipality that has its own problems, but all municipalities have their own problems because it is a process of transformation, it is a process of change, it is a process where the registration of property titles is still problematic today and all day for a thousand and one reasons that are not the place to explain, but on the other hand, Himara today is not at all compared to Himara that was 10 years ago. Himara today is a completely different reality.
Himara today shines in many aspects. Today, Himara is an international tourist destination. Himara today is a place that has produced wealth for the Himariotes, because at the end of the day we can discuss as much as we want and I don't want to go into details, but properties in Himara are not robbed. This does not happen because the properties are robbed and taken by some oligarchs, as they say.
Properties in Himare and throughout Albania are sold and all the constructions that are done in Himare are with sales contracts that are always more impressive in terms of the price at which a square meter is sold today in Himare. We are talking about prices that in a part of the coastline are higher than in Corfu and this income certainly goes to Himariot families.
Of course, in the totality of these transactions, I definitely do not discuss at all that there are transactions based on actions carried out in mortgages in the past, but also the case that was mentioned, I do not want to go into the concrete aspect at all, but again it is about residents of Himara who have a dispute between them about the property and it is a matter of a private relationship with them.
So when I say this, I don't mean to minimize the problems, but I mean that there is no exclusive ownership problem for Himara, that's a myth.
It is a myth perpetuated by vicious politics and by a section of it that has to do with that tired and worn out politician we spoke of. Tired, exhausted, but very effective in the manipulation and disinformation of Athens, which has nothing to do as a myth with reality, because the same problem that a Himariot has to register his property in Himare has a Dukagina, one mountain in Theth, one in Kukës, another in Tepelena and this is a process."/ CNA
