"Reliable partners in NATO and the UN"/ Balla visits the Latvian

Minister of State, Taulant Balla, was received by the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Artjoms Ursulskis, during an official visit to the capital of Latvia. The visit took place in the context of strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Balla thanked the Latvian authorities for the warm hospitality and underlined the importance of these visits for strengthening relations between the Western Balkan countries and EU and NATO members.

During the meeting, Minister Balla emphasized the importance of the partnership between Albania and Latvia within NATO, expressing gratitude for Latvia's continued support for Albania's European integration process.

"We work together as allies in NATO and are very grateful for the support that Latvia provides to Albania on its path towards membership in the European Union," said Balla.

For his part, Mr. Ursulskis praised Albania's progress in the negotiation process with the EU, underlining the rapid pace at which the opening of group chapters is advancing.

"I must say that your country is doing very well and is progressing at an impressive pace. There is no doubt that this path is worth it and we will continue to support it," he declared.

During the discussions, the two officials shared concrete ideas for deepening economic cooperation.

Balla expressed interest in deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest: economy, trade, tourism, education, culture, transport, agriculture, etc.

"Tourism offers potential for mutual cooperation - Albania with its coastline and cultural heritage, Latvia with its historical heritage and natural beauties," said Balla.

In the field of tourism, the significant increase in interest among Latvian citizens in visiting Albania was highlighted, as well as the opportunities for further development of cooperation in the promotion of tourist destinations.

"In fact, I myself will be visiting Albania this summer for vacation," Ursulskis added. /CNA
