After the clashes at today's meeting of the Media Committee of Gazment Bardhi and Flamur Nokë with the chairperson of the committee, Flutura Açka, there has been a reaction from the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla.

The latter defends the deputy of Lulzim Basha, as she describes the behavior of deputies Noka and Bardhi as an unprecedented attack.

Nikolla declares that their act is more than a violation of the Regulation and ethics and according to her exceeded the goals of violence.

"I strongly condemn the very serious event that happened today in the Media Commission of the Parliament of Albania. Deputies Gazment Bardhi and Flamur Noka, not only violently prevented the Commission's meeting, but also seriously insulted the Chairperson of the Commission, the honorable deputy Flutura Açka.

This unprecedented attack on a lady deputy of the Parliament of Albania is much more than a violation of the Rules of the Assembly and the ethics of the deputy's conduct. 

At a time when the Assembly is working to tighten the legislation against violence against women, in its premises, in a meeting room where a debate on the laws should take place and from which education and citizenship should be radiated, in the eyes of colleagues, the media and of all citizens, two MPs use violence against one of their colleagues, MP and Committee Chairperson.

The violence perpetrated by MPs Bardhi and Noka exceeded the limits of verbal violence, and this is what the images broadcast by the media speak of," emphasizes Nikolla.

We remind you that the opposition MPs entered the hall where the meeting of the Economy Committee was being held and set up loudspeakers. Açka resisted, while Noka pulled the microphone to stop him from talking./ CNA
