The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has declared that the law on the State Police will be changed. During a statement to the media, he said that the draft will shortly be in public consultation. 

The minister explained that there will be a new code of ethics for State Police employees and that the new law will give importance to meritocracy. 

"We will change the law on the State Police, the draft will be in public consultation for a while. The new law on the State Police will guarantee meritocracy. There will be a New Code of Ethics for State Police employees. The new State Police Law must to give importance to meritocracy. We must guarantee that every honest employee of the State Police has a career. There has been a career deadlock in the State Police. After intensive daily work we will soon have a draft that will be made public, where you and the public will be notified. The new State Police Law has referred to the best practices to transform the State Police as the most trusted institution in the country. It is a pretty big law and in this aspect, the final work is equally important to make it ready to submit to public consultations", said Balla./ CNA
