The leader of the Socialist Party held a meeting with Albanians in Athens today. In his speech, Rama focused at length on Albania's integration into the European Union and the European passport.

The Prime Minister said that Albanians living in Greece, after EU membership, do not need to forget or change the red and black eagle. Rama addressed the Albanians in Greece, telling them that they are and will always be eagles and they do not have to change who they are.

 

" The country needs you on May 11 to fulfill what is the last obligation that every parent has to their child, to give them a European passport and tell them to learn the culture of the world, but there is no need to change what you are and what is written on your Albanian passport. You do not need to forget the eagle on the red flag, or even worse, change it. You are and will always be the eagle.

Today, for the first time, the EU is not only in a position that says one day we will be together, but today it says within 2027 we will close the agreement with you and within a decade we will be together. Two mistakes that no Albanian should make. The first is to think that the open door will be open forever. Once it is open, it can be closed. The second mistake that Albanians should not make in the face of the train of history that has stopped is to think that anyone can do this. Not anyone can do this," declared Rama./ CNA
