"Minister Diella, frivolous act"/ Teliti for CNA: The new legislature

Democrat Dorjan Teliti commented today on the latest political developments at the beginning of this new legislature.

In a statement to CNA, Teliti said that the legislature began with a lack of respect among the political establishment and that the opposition was denied the right to discuss the new government.

Teliti said that Minister Diella's presentation was not a serious act.

Teliti added that the opposition wants the Parliament to function normally, as an institution of a country aiming for European integration.

"The new legislature began with a lack of respect for political parties, where the rules of procedure of the Assembly were unilaterally changed, an act which over the years has only been changed with the agreement of the parties. Also, the opposition was denied the right to discuss the composition of the government and the 4-year program, which is happening for the first time since the democratic changes more than three decades ago. The introduction of Diella to the status of minister is not at all serious, considered by constitutionalists as an act that violates the country's Constitution. The opposition wants the normal functioning of the Assembly, in respect of the rules of procedure and democratic principles of the functioning of the parliament for a country that aspires to integration into the EU", - said Teliti./CNA
