Ilir Alimehmeti, who heads the list of members for the municipal councils in Tirana, has called on citizens to come out and vote en masse.  

According to Alimehmet, this is the only way for citizens to change their city.

Ilir Alimehmet's statement

Dear citizens of Tirana. Today is one of the most important days for the citizens. Today our future, the future of our city, the future of our families is decided.

There were efforts, there was the presence of municipal employees near the voting centers. There were irregularities, there were delays of 2-3 hours due to the non-functioning of electronic identification devices in hundreds of polling stations. All these require only one thing, to discourage people, to deter people from coming out and voting.

They can't do anything else. And for this reason, your answer to them is only one: to go out en masse and vote. Your answer is that; your family's future, not in their hands. The city's future is in your hands, not theirs. Get out, vote, en masse.

This is a beautiful day. With your participation it will end as it should.
