The chairman of the PD of the Elbasan branch, Blendi Himçi, has denounced the theft of votes and the manipulation of citizens by the socialists during the election campaign and on May 14, the day of the elections.

According to him, aid was distributed to citizens in order to buy their vote and electronic voting has again resulted in a manipulation as the will of the voters has been distorted.

Among other things, Himçi has accused the police of having chased and escorted to the police station 3 leaders of the Democratic Party (Aurel Bylykbashi, Doriano Koldashi, Maik Elezi), and a candidate for the Municipal Council (Franko Hakija), in complete violation of the law.

" Since January 14, 2023, the "Together We Win" coalition has denounced in all forms the massacre that was being prepared for the local elections in the Municipality of Elbasan.

The use of public resources by the mayor in office, the distribution of food aid with the direct commitment of the mayor, pressure on the public administration through the filling of patronage forms, the use of electoral asphalt without a tendering procedure, the use of the Municipal Police as a means of blackmail , the influx of illegal constructions, the deliberate negligence of the municipal authorities, the direct involvement of the leaders of public institutions in buying votes, etc., were an alarm bell for the massacre that was being prepared against free elections.

The State Police, instead of reacting to these illegal and unconstitutional phenomena, chose to side with the government and be used by it. Blackmail against Democratic Party activists turned into a real concern in the last days of the election campaign. 3 leaders of the Democratic Party (Aurel Bylykbashi, Doriano Koldashi, Maik Elezi), and a candidate for the Municipal Council (Franko Hakija), were followed and escorted by State Police officers in complete violation of the Constitution and laws in force. There was no evidence of criminal offenses against them, except for the fact that they were involved with the opposition and the Democratic Party.
