In the local elections of May 14, the opposition had a deep defeat, which according to deputy Saimir Korreshi was also caused by the division of the Democratic Party.

While talking about the elections, Korreshi said that the only possibility for the opposition to have a good result in 2025 is for the PD to enter into negotiations for reunification.

He stated in a television appearance that both DPs should choose groups of deputies and create a council to organize elections from the beginning.

"I say that the only way is negotiation. Mr. Berisha should leave a group of deputies from his own part and a group of deputies from the official PD part, who should create a council to deal with the elections from the beginning, from the sections, group sections, with the whole party successively to the highest structures.

So there must be a total reorganization, but united. If we do not negotiate, Mr. Berisha does not open such a process, DP will not have a winning option in the next elections. If Mr. Berisha thinks that he will have his 20 deputies and make that mini-opposition, I do not agree with this, I do not support this type of direction, but it seems that in all probability the only one who does not say union is Mr. Berisha", emphasized the deputy./ CNA.al
