The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has been severely criticized after the results of the local elections for his cooperation with the head of the PL, Ilir Meta.

Many democrats have raised accusations that PL benefited from the cooperation, since it would not have been able to get municipal councilors alone.

But Berisha claims otherwise. In a conversation with the citizens, Berisha said that Meta was loyal and had no interest in PL forming a coalition as a party, but concluded the agreement for the benefit of the opposition.

"I think that the Freedom Party has been completely playful and it had no interest as a party to make a coalition, but it made this coalition so that the opposition would have a greater power, otherwise, as you saw, our candidates will were forced to register as independent because Edi Rama and his judges, executors of the law in the courtroom, received the logo and seal of the DP.

In these circumstances, I guarantee that Edi Rama would have given the greatest reward to Ilir Meta, if he did not accept the coalition with DP.
