The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, together with the mayor of the Municipal Council, Romina Kuko, have started a thank-you tour in all municipal units, after the victory of the May 14 elections.

During the stop in Ward 13, Veliaj said that he feels grateful to every citizen who voted for him and the Socialist Party, also getting the majority in the Municipal Council, while underlining that the work will continue uninterrupted with the projects started in this unit as well.

"It is very important to have the institution of gratitude as strong as the institution of victory. It is with great gratitude that I look forward to, starting next week, finally resolving the situation at the Botanic Gardens and moving forward with that investment. We have seen how the Zoo increased the value of all that property. Now that we have solved the problem of the last lot of schools, let's continue with the last two schools that we have in Dry Lake and make sure that, also at the corner of the Botanical Garden, but also at the Olympic Park, the two new schools are built , to prove to any skeptics that we do not campaign. Now that the campaign is over, we will do twice as much, simply to guarantee that the citizens have taken the vote not to an enthusiasm of the electoral moment, but to an organization, to a team, to a party like ours.

He also thanked every member of the Socialist Party who worked for this victory.

"Today it is very fashionable to be a socialist. Today it is very fashionable to come with the winners. Today it is very fashionable to be part of the victory chorus. It wasn't always like that. There was a time when you were a socialist and you lived in the middle of "Skënderbej" square. When you protested like on January 21, you were killed with bullets in the flesh. For all those who have gone gray in the service of our force and our family, in the most difficult days where it was not fashionable, when we were not the majority, they deserve all the applause, all the congratulations, all our respect and gratitude. We have this battle for the minds and hearts of the people. We don't have it for the eyes and for the sparklers, for the fireworks, for the led screens, and for the costs of the stadium. We have this to give people a message that where some have planted strife and division, we will plant trees and oxygen.
