The opposition's appeal for the August 4th vote in Himare for the head of the municipality will be examined on August 21st at the Appeals and Sanctions Commission at the CEC.

The body of 5 members will meet to see if the opposition's claims of irregularities in the election stand and accept its request for invalidity in the election, or if they will uphold the decision that declared Vangjel Tavon of the Socialist Party the winner with a margin of 1477 votes .

According to the opposition's assertions, the most important problem for which it sought the invalidity of the elections was the inability to vote for citizens whose identity cards had expired.

In the appeal, the opposition accused the majority of using the administration in the election by "landing" as they called it, ministers in the last days of the campaign or intimidation of voters, businesses and hotel owners.

After the decision of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission and further, if the decision of the KAS is sent, the Electoral College opens the way for the swearing in of Vangjel Tavo and his sitting in the chair of the mayor of Himara. /CNA
