"We have reorganized ourselves"/ Rama: An unusual situation in Tirana,

Prime Minister Edi Rama returned today with the "Eye to Eye" column on social networks, where he spoke about the release of public spaces.

In his responses to commentators, Rama focused particularly on the capital, which he said is in an unusual situation, as it has lacked direction for some time.

For this reason, Rama said, the Socialists have reorganized and Tirana's MPs have been placed in an even more demanding position.

Regarding the action to liberate public spaces, Rama stated that this is not just a matter for inspectors, but the aim is for control of the territory to be achieved through technology.

Further, the Prime Minister said that the launch of technological monitoring of the territory is in progress, where everything will be surveyed via drones.

The work of inspectors in the field will be confronted with drone reports, Rama said.

" Two things that have impressed me a lot in Tirana. On the one hand, the positive transformations that Tirana has undergone. Negative, in terms of an expansion of the boundaries of the activity of service units in public spaces. Something that I have also heard from citizens, this was the basis of a concern.

After the elections ended with an extraordinary result, we discussed the necessity of returning to the territory. SP MPs have been in the territory continuously, in several large cities, to meet with the community.

In Tirana we have an unusual situation, it has lacked direction for some time, we have reorganized ourselves by placing the deputies in an even more demanding position. From all four corners of the capital, the community's demand has been clear: free our public spaces.

There is a need for further organization, it is not just a matter of inspectors and inspections, it is also a matter of establishing another level of controls through technology.

We are in the process of launching structured technological monitoring of the territory where we will be able to follow everything that happens in the territory through drones and we will receive information about everything that happens. The work of field inspectors will be confronted with technological surveillance.

It is not a process that does not aim for harmony between the interests of citizens, those who need their spaces, and those who provide services, who do small business in these spaces.

Step by step we will create a line, where 70% of the sidewalk will be for people and 30% for chairs.

"The government is not dealing with tables and chairs, we are in a state of mobilization to provide a solution to citizens' concerns about the asphyxiation of public spaces ," said Rama./ CNA
