"Alarm bell for Rama"/ Ndoka: Spectacular protest! Basha DP was taken
Nard Ndoka, chairman of PDK

DP and the opposition held a national protest on Thursday evening, where the participation of Albanians was high. But what did July 11 produce or show?

In an interview for CNA, the chairman of the Christian Democratic Party, Nard Ndoka, described the high number of protesters as a wake-up call for Prime Minister Edi Rama, and at the same time a test for the opposition.

"It was a spectacular protest for the way it was organized, in terms of participation, where the citizens responded to the call made by the opposition for a national protest. The protest as a whole is a measuring unit, no one claims that a protest will overthrow the prime minister or the government, but it was an alarm bell that the prime minister must read clearly. We have a government immersed in corruption, with numerous scandals, one of them being the Municipality of Tirana with its arrested directors.

The protest was also a test for the opposition. We needed an opposition to create trust in the citizens."

According to Ndoka, there has been no lack of support for the protests, but the opposition has not been at the proper institutional level, due to the former leader Lulzim Basha who allowed Rama to take PD hostage.

"There was no lack of support from the citizens in the protests in any case. The opposition has not been at the institutional height. For three years, the largest opposition party had been held hostage by the prime minister. First, the leader Lulzim Basha and through him captured the logo, seal, name, finances and everything else of this party, making the opposition non-existent. This process has already ended and increased the confidence of the citizens. The realization of protests of the magnitude of July 11, requires the union of opposition parties, I have witnessed them in 30 years. The participation was an indication that not only the political cause was supported, but also beyond it. The protest exceeded even the biggest skeptics' expectations"

The head of the Democratic Christian Party, Nard Ndoka, said, among other things, that the opposition parties today are united by the common goal of overthrowing Edi Rama as prime minister./CNA
