The charge d'affaires of the US embassy in Tirana, David Wisner, in an interview with the media, also commented on the action of the opposition in the Assembly and the Parliamentary Commissions. 

Wisner points out that it is very important for a country to have a strong opposition, but added that they have been concerned by what has happened in recent parliamentary sessions. 

The senior American official underlines that a constructive dialogue between the parties is necessary. 

"As we have stated before, a vigorous opposition is essential in any healthy democracy. That said, the United States and many of our partners, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and the EU, have expressed concern about the events that have taken place in Parliament over the last few months. Of course there can be disagreements about policies, but there is a need for constructive dialogue, respectful debate, and the recognition that elected officials from any political party work for the people, to serve the citizens Albanians, as well as to move Albania forward on its Euro-Atlantic path. Even our Congress has very energetic and sometimes controversial debates, including through our investigative commissions. Our investigations, in many cases, have led to important political progress and policies. As a general principle, legislative mechanisms take time and are difficult, but a range of tools is important to ensure that democracies debate developments," said Wisner./ CNA
