Government meeting today/ Erion Veliaj's dismissal expected

The executive director of the Institute for Municipalities, Agron Haxhimali, stated today that according to a report from a year ago, it turns out that 1/3 of the elected mayors in the country have problems with integrity and corruption.
In an interview on 'Syri Tv', Haxhimali stated that local government needs stability and not constant changes.
Haxhimali added that this issue is problematic and accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of abusing power.
"Rama has already opened up other troubles, some municipalities will be cut and the mayors are afraid. Not 6, but the Institute for Municipalities in the 2024 report on local government, results that 1/3 of local elected officials have problems with integrity and corruption, and as such are part of SPAK and the justice system. In my opinion, in this state of lack of integrity, instability due to theft and resignations, everyone should go to the elections. The architecture of the state is not built in such a way, when the majority itself destabilizes it.
One resigns, another goes to prison, another is made a minister. The local government needs stability, a conflictive and irritating climate is created for the citizens. There is no social peace for the citizens to be engaged and live engaged in our wonderful village that very soon we will be in Europe, which I do not believe very much. Geopolitical circumstances may push us towards the EU, referring to this process from the countries that have been integrated before, it seems to me that we are very far in terms of standards. I do not need Marta to tell me, nor anyone else.
Unforgivable, shameful and condemnable, 'patronageist revenge', to keep me in this kind of language is unforgivable. Patronageists are collaborators who are paid with our taxes for the interests of the Socialist Party. How is a state built with this kind of pressure, that the patronageists will take revenge. I have a negative feeling when they keep me under this pressure. We got used to the patronageists of the Party of Labor and now in 2025... why doesn't he talk about the procedures in the municipality, Tepelene, Berat and Mat. Why doesn't the prime minister feel sorry for leaving the citizens without their elected representative. What business does the prime minister have in the municipal offices and bringing together local party officials, ministers and deputy mayors. Find me an example, and I won't appear on TV anymore. Find me a case. All norms and procedures have been exceeded, the Constitution has been violated, what is this kidnapping, political and territorial control. Someone from the municipality officials should come out and tell Rama enough.
With this excessive power, it is not Rama's issue, but ours. If we are going to chew it up, bravo to Rama and multiply the controls without exception. If society does not self-regulate, these things will remain problematic. The state architecture, the public administration, is an electoral architecture, which has changed the dynamics of the vote, beyond the truth, reality and pluralism. Even change can be changed through patronage, with a qualitatively low democratic culture, "said Haxhimali./CNA
