Former MP Lefter Maliqi stopped by today at the protest called for January 24 by the Albanian opposition.

In a television appearance, Maliqi stated that the two possible scenarios are a hunger strike, a siege of the Prime Minister's Office building, or even a march towards Surrel, meaning the area near the Prime Minister's residence.

According to Maliqi, for the Democrats to be motivated, sacrifice is needed from the MPs.

"The January 24 protest will have decisive decisions on its continuation. I am in favor of the scenario that seems to have protesters for extended hours, and to spread to all cities in Albania and even for a hunger strike by MPs. I am also ready to go on a hunger strike. If MPs sacrifice, then the Democrats will be motivated. Another scenario is the siege of the prime minister's office, protests in regions of the country, but also to march towards the crime-ridden Surrel because I don't know what's in those bunkers," Maliqi said./CNA
